This was one of the first stories that really came together the way that I planned. I wrote this back in 2004, before steampunk was massive. Honest. It's a chapter from the middle of a non-existent pulp serial, which despite being a massive Star Wars fan I somehow convinced myself was a wildly original idea. Anyway, I hope you like it.
